Our goal is to care for our residents using the most healthful, holistic ways possible, with the least impact on our environment.  To that end, Living Well dedicates itself to  whole person quality care, community involvement, sustainable practices, active communication among staff, residents, our local community and beyond.
Whole Food, Homemade and Organic Meals are a Priority
We emphasize a whole foods diet, eliminating refined sugar and maximizing intake of fruits, vegetables and free range meats. We use organic ingredients and products whenever possible.  Several varieties of organic bread are available to residents at all times. Meal components are made from scratch, often from locally grown ingredients or produce harvested straight from our own garden!
We Offer a Number of Vital Activities
Residents enjoy free lifetime passes to all Vermont State Parks; we visit to view the beautiful fall foliage, and also go swimming during warm seasons. Approved strength training programs, led by a staff member. As shown on the right, several residents and staff members took some time to flex their painting skills and decorate pumpkins for Halloween.

Music!  We have a keyboard and other musical instruments are available for residents who are musically inclined...or would like to be. To help celebrate the winter holidays, residents participate in decorating a lamppost located on Bristol's Main Street in downtown Bristol, VT. We entered the town-sponsored Gingerbread House contest and last year, won the People's Choice award!

Our on-site garden, shared with a couple of nearby families, is maintained by volunteers, residents and staff.  We eat or preserve most of the produce grown, and donate the surplus.

We attend the summertime Wednesday night Concert on the Green; musical performances from Bristol's town band. Last year, a number of residents worked together and made a quilt that currently hangs upstairs in the care home. In addition to voluntary participation in a number of fun, entertaining activities, residents also assist with basic household chores, including folding laundry and meal preparation whenever possible. A large selection of traditional board and card games is always available, as is bingo and dominoes.
